Prosperity in Everyday Affairs

Let's take an overall view of where we are going to be going for the next 9 weeks or 60 days.

Our goal: to prosper in all things! In health! (III John 2)

If you look at this verse in the message it expounds with "that your everyday affairs prosper" and I want you to receive that today. Your everday affairs matter to God and He wants you to prosper in them.

No blues, no aches or moans or pains about what it is right now, look up! God is with you in this journey toward prosperity!

Friday, January 1, 2010 - Strange As It May Seem

It may seem somewhat strange for you to begin your change in lifestyle by going to the Word of God but one of our basic principles for living in good health would be a biblical perspective. Why not begin there instead of end there when I believe it's the key to our success?

For today look at III John 2:

"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."

John who wrote this is concerned not only about the soul but ones physical and spiritual well being as well.

It's time for our personal application now. Today is January 1st of 2010. We're ready!

Whether God has spoken to you about finances, health, relationships or some ungodly habit, He wants you to repent - turn from your ways and follow His way of doing those things!

Have you acknowledged what He has told you these last seven days?

You might consider beginning a journal as you go into 2010.

Have you agreed with God to commit to doing it His way?

Begin now to read His Word every day. This is where you will find His answer to doing it His way.

Pray. Pray without ceasing. It's simply talking to God and also listening. Then comes the personal application of what you discussed and heard. That's our key for 2010. Application.

Individually God will get more specific with us. He got specific with Daniel not to defile himself with the kings food in Babylonia and to trust Him in the lions den. He was very specific with Jonah to go to Nineveh even if Jonah didn't want to go and when things would look their bleakest and be filled with gloom for Paul He would encourage Paul to keep going on with Him even to where Paul would be thankful and sing hymns in prison! He will lead you and me the same way. Through the worst or best of times God will provide a way.

This song I learned a long time ago:
God will make a way - when here seems to be now way
He works in ways we cannot see - God will make a way for me.
He will be my guide - hold me closely to His side.
With love and strength for each new day - God will make a way,
God will make a way.

When you read I Corinthians 10:13 you might think that song was written for letting us know God has made a way of escape no matter what temptation or circumstance hits us. With God we are able! We are able to endure and persevere through whatever we need to!

Let's face these things that God has revealed to us together as we enter this New Year for together we are stronger as one on the road to everlasting than going the road alone.

From Psalm 103 I am encouraged in the great love God has for me. He forgives, heals, redeems and blesses me! I've found it always helps me to read God's benefits after I've prayed and asked Him to point out any sin He sees in me that He wants me to change. However, I know that it is important for us to ask about it or how are we ever going to recognize the sin? When we ask the Lord to reveal our sin to us we are then able to repent and be forgiven. He loves us so much!

Read Psalm 103 and as you read take heart action and look to the Lord for He is reading with you and will show you His way. I encourage you to take time to read it more than once and I also would encourage you to read it in several different translations. Write what you hear from God down. Make this your prayer today.

Pray Psalm 139:23 and 24 today.

From the New King James -

Search me, O God, and know my heart;

Try me, and know my anxieties;

And see if there is any wicked way in me,

And lead me in the way everlasting.

From The Message -

Investigate my life, O God, find out everything about me;

Cross-examine and test me, get a clear picture of what I'm about;

See for yourself whether I've done anything wrong - then guide me on the road to eternal life.

Amen.

The clock is ticking. Time is running out. Christmas Day is over and the New Year's Day celebration only seven days and counting. Have you committed to begin this year doing things God's way? Your answer 'yes' and with the right heart attitude, you will be able to do what is right at the time you have set. Mine is set for January 7th. While I wait for that day I prepare myself in the Word of God and prayer. He will show me the way to go. Me? I will walk in it.

Ways to prepare during the next seven days:

Today: Ask the Lord for His help - Dear Lord, I begin today to seek You and what you would have for me this next year, 2010. Show me clearly so that I can perfect that which is in me to bring You glory.

Welcome December!

Splurge now. Get your last taste of those foods and treats you're going to say good-bye to come the New Year! December is the perfect month to start thinking about eating and living healthy. Many of the foods we eat during the Christmas Season are comfort foods; foods we are use to seeing and having during this time of year. Foods we've grown up with. Foods that are traditional at your house or mine and everyone expects. So what can you do about it? Do something different for a change! Find a new healthy recipe and make it for that Christmas party next week, family gathering or the company potluck. Begin with some simple dishes like a green salad or fruit salad. What you bring you'll know you can eat and be healthy! Begin now to learn to eat to live and not live to eat!

Thanksgiving

Are you all ready, everything is planned out. The guests are invited and you are now preparing your menu for your Thanksgiving celebration? My Mother is. Prepared that is. This year? No turkey. Beef. And for me? Black bean and corn enchiladas! Yes! Some have made a noise about no turkey so there will be a turkey breast and for sure there will still be all the fixin's that go with a traditional Thanksgiving feast. And it is always a feast at our house... Mom's house, that is. Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, green beans, salad, relishes, cranberry sauce, rolls, pumpkin pie, apple pie and whatever else anyone who pops in may bring with them and that's all after a spread on the coffee table of every kind of snack food imaginable! How about you, could you do without a turkey on Thanksgiving? I'm excited about the black bean and corn enchiladas!

I really am. Excited about the black bean and corn enchiladas. When you eat like I do, different from most and breaking the family tradition, well... I've got the dearest Mom and she always loved to cook. Now she is learning something new! Yes, like garden burgers and tofu Italian sausage and vegan chili! Different is good here, for me any way. My husband, too. We changed our diet over three years ago and went vegan. Better yet, raw vegan! Not completely. On the Hallelujah Diet we have learned to eat 85% raw and only 15% cooked food. Was it easy? Once you make up your mind it is.

Let me say this; on this blog as you check out what I have to share with you, you will find good healthy information and encouragement to help support you when you choose a healthy lifestyle. You get to choose it (or not). That's it and then we begin. I'll begin by sharing with you nine healthy makeover tips to start you on your way to a daily healthy lifestyle. You'll have to do the reading to get the support but it won't only be reading, let me tell you, there will be hands-on for you too and that will be the key to make it work for you.

Why all this fuss about a healthy lifestyle? Do you want to live out your life to the fullest? Do you want to live it out sickly or healthy? Do you care about your God-given, miraculous self-healing body or will you waste it away? We have a spirit and a soul that has to live in this fleshy body with it's five miles of skin holding it all together, so we'd best be taking good care of it, don't you think? Many people today are trapped in a rut that leads to a dead end but there is hope at the end of your tunnel when you do it God's way! Let's have some fun as we learn to eat to live and not live to eat ourselves into oblivion!

Be careful this Thanksgiving Day and don't eat 'til you're stuffed. Say your Thanksgiving prayer first and then listen to your body or the voice in your head that's saying, "wait, not that", or "stop, you can't eat another bite or you'll die!" There is some truth to that voice as you well know.

I've really seen too many TV shows or movies that I think someone out there is listening... if there is, we're in this together so let's get going! Chat with you tomorrow or next week. Remember, I'm new at this so we'll see what it takes and if I can take it! God bless you and remember to make every day a hallelujah day! Count your blessings today and be thankful ~
This is it! I've started a blog! I feel better already as this is something I believe will be of benefit, if to no one else, to me! I'm encouraged just to have started so now let's see where I go from here. As I think about this blog I just set up, what does it look like? I chose a template but haven't seen it. I'm typing but where is it going? I won't have any of these answers until I stop typing this page and go see for myself, but just so you know, when it comes to a healthy lifestyle I'm beginning to have that all wrapped up in a neat little package and I can't wait to share with you. We'll begin in a few... I've just got to look!
